Initially, most vapers thought of the first model as a &#8220;Mod&#8221; (the next and final category). However, battery mods are <em>housings <\/em>for generic batteries. The models in this category have unique <strong>batteries<\/strong>. In January 2010, I <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vapersforum.com\/showpost.php?p=184211&amp;postcount=34\" target=\"_blank\">predicted<\/a> there would be <em>other <\/em>models with such fatter batteries; thus my tentative name for the category. [Referring to other models as &#8220;eGO-like&#8221; is becoming increasingly awkward.] And it seems that my crystal ball was crystal clear \u2013 new models and enhancements are coming out almost weekly &#8230; and the fat batts may now be the most popular of all types of PVs!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The fat batts (more expensive than most standard models) cancel out the major weakness of those skinny e-cigs (puffs per battery charge) with their 650-1300 mAh manual switch batteries. And, because of that extended battery life, you won\u2019t need a PCC or PT, so the total price is no more than a skinny batt. [NOTE: Although virtually all of the following photos show black units, the eGO\/Tornado and Riva also are available in several other colors.]<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">The Basic 510-based Fat Batts<\/h4>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li>The Joye <strong>eGO <\/strong>(aka <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallywicked-eliquid.com\/?ps1=00100\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Tornado<\/em><\/a>) was the first of the Fat Batts and is the most popular (and most expensive). It is designed for the single most popular atomizer, the Joye510 (as are many other fat batt models), with an accompanying sleeve for the atty and a light ring in the center. The result is a PV 118 by 14 mm. [NOTE: Use of the eGO battery with the <em>Joye 306<\/em> atty (especially LR) is becoming increasing popular.]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"eGO and cigarette\" src=\"http:\/\/i562.photobucket.com\/albums\/ss67\/DonDaBoomVape\/WWV%20adds\/eGOandcigarette.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"102\" height=\"342\" \/><span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">[photo courtesy of <a href=\"http:\/\/ecig-mag.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ecig-Mag<\/a> (French)]<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: left;\">The battery of the basic version is 650 mAh \u2013 significantly greater than any skinny e-cig battery (even the XLs and Megas) &#8230; and it is greater than the wimpier mods at 340 mAh (they look neat with all those lights, but at ~$100?). The voltage, however, is only 3.4V: slightly more than the 3.2V Joye 510, but less than the 801, 901, or especially the 3.7V Kr8.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"eGO in hand\" src=\"http:\/\/vapingguides.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/eGO-in-hand.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"294\" height=\"264\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: left;\">The eGO is so popular that all the videographers have reviewed it. It&#8217;s difficult to choose just one to show here. I&#8217;ve selected a reviewer I&#8217;ve not called on before: Australian <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/dbnaussievapers\" target=\"_blank\">dBN &#8211; AussieVapers<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><object classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" width=\"425\" height=\"350\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/mxWYyccdbXM\" \/><embed type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"425\" height=\"350\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/mxWYyccdbXM\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: left;\">The eGO\/Tornado is now available from almost <strong>any <\/strong>supplier. Retail price is $74, but look  for sales at prices around $60 that sometimes are available from  suppliers like <a href=\"http:\/\/shop.rockymountainvapor.com\/category.sc?categoryId=41\" target=\"_blank\">Rocky Mountain Vapor<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.litecigusa.net\/joye_ecig_s\/68.htm\" target=\"_blank\">LiteCigUSA<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cignot.com\/category_s\/23.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Cignot<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/domesticvapor.com\/shop\/viewitem.php?groupid=27&amp;productid=910\" target=\"_blank\">Domestic Vapor<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/shop.nhaler.com\/EGO-Kits-Egos.htm\" target=\"_blank\">NHaler<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallywicked-eliquid.com\/?ps1=00100\" target=\"_blank\">Totally Wicked<\/a>, or\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/heaven-gifts.com\/passport---1579-signup.html\" target=\"_blank\">Heaven Gifts<\/a> (China).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: left;\">As wonderful as the eGO is, however, <strong>I<\/strong> recommend either the enhancements mentioned further below &#8230; <strong>or <\/strong>three <em>other<\/em> models (which are less expensive <strong>and <\/strong>greater capacity):<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eastmall.net\/\/Products\/ShowProduct.aspx?pid=100000253\" target=\"_blank\">EastMall<\/a>\u2018s <strong>7<\/strong>50 mAh 3.4V <strong>Riva<\/strong> ($50 from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cloudsofvapor.com\/index.php?page=shop.browse&amp;category_id=44&amp;option=com_virtuemart&amp;Itemid=1&amp;vmcchk=1&amp;Itemid=1\" target=\"_blank\">Clouds of Vapor<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vaporjunction.com\/store\/index.php?main_page=index&amp;cPath=42&amp;zenid=520cc0bb8d1e927969d16f71769a00f7\" target=\"_blank\">Vapor Junction<\/a>, $55 from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.altsmoke.com\/?ref=196\" target=\"_blank\">AltSmoke<\/a>, $67 from <a href=\"http:\/\/http\/\/shop.nhaler.com\/Riva-Riva.htm\" target=\"_blank\">NHaler<\/a>)  \u2013 the same size and shape as the eGO and fully compatible with all of  its enhancements. At <strong>7<\/strong>50 mAh, it is a direct counterpart to the Riva, but with a cone shaped for Kr8 cartomizers. I&#8217;m not sure that anyone has accurately determined the Elegant&#8217;s nominal voltage. As an Elegant owner, I&#8217;m sure that it is at least the eGO&#8217;s 3.4V, but less than 3.7V. Available for $70 in black or brushed gold.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Elegant Easy - black and gold\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cigeasy.com\/v\/vspfiles\/photos\/ELEGANT2-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"263\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: left;\">For more on the Elegant, read <a href=\"http:\/\/www.e-cigarette-forum.com\/forum\/electronic-cigarette-reviews\/101915-cigeasy-s-kr8-elegant-ego-rest-us.html\" target=\"_blank\">my review<\/a> on ECF. As I state there, I especially like using the Elegant with my LR 901 and 801 atomizers, shown below in my own blurry photo. [The latter requires an adapter and prohibits the use of the cone; it may look a little weird, but it produces a <em>smooth <\/em>vaping experience.]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Elegant with 801 and 901 attys\" src=\"http:\/\/i562.photobucket.com\/albums\/ss67\/DonDaBoomVape\/Elegant%20Review\/Elegantwith801and901attys.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"398\" height=\"172\" \/><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li>VaporNine followed with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shareasale.com\/r.cfm?b=185681&amp;amp;u=467811&amp;amp;m=22598&amp;amp;urllink=&amp;amp;afftrack=\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Defender<\/strong><\/a>. The Riva-901 is available from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eastmall.net\" target=\"_blank\">EastMall<\/a> of course and from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liberty-flights.com\/product.asp?id=56#p3\" target=\"_blank\">Liberty-Flights<\/a> (for an amazingly low $37.50?) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liberty-flights.co.uk\/product.asp?id=83\" target=\"_blank\">Liberty-Flights-UK<\/a> (for \u00a343). [Either the US dollar\/British pound exchange rate has gone topsy turvy or that U.S. price shown on their website is incorrect.] And remember the L-F 10% discount code is VGLF10. Slowly and carefully inject about 1.8ml e-juice into the cartomizer  through the injecting hole. Do not overfill it, otherwise the e-juice  might leak out.<br \/>\n3.  Put 2 small caps and rubber things back to their place, spin the  cartomizer a few times, so that the e-juice inside could be distributed  better.<br \/>\n4.  Put it aside for a few minutes, clean the mouthpiece and threads, and  then screw it onto the eGo battery full of power.
