In all cases, they use <strong>two <\/strong>3.0V CR2 or CR123A batteries. Many of the newer generation 6V mods incorporate safety features such as venting to address concerns about stacked batteries (although I don&#8217;t see that mentioned on the websites for these two particular models). 6V mods should be used with <strong>HV <\/strong>(actually high-resistance) 4.5 ohm atomizers \u2013 8 watts power and 1.3 amps current. Like the 6V, they use two of the specified 3.0V or 3.7V batteries, but add a <strong>regulator <\/strong>(or resister in the case of the GLV-2 and perhaps the oh-so-similar Billet) to bring the net voltage down to 5V. See also the double 18650-based <em>Tekk <\/em>shown at the bottom of this page. Similar venting on the newer models. There are only a few 5V mods these days. For example, models such as the <em>Prodigy<\/em> V1 and V2, <em>Genesis<\/em>, <em>Detonator<\/em>, and <em>ZiMoshi <\/em>have been discontinued. [The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.puresmoker.com\/category_s\/65.htm&amp;Click=9312\" target=\"_blank\">Prodigy V<strong>3<\/strong><\/a> is 6V.] It appears that they are being replaced by 3.7Vers used with LR atomizers, 6Vers used with HV attys, and by the final voltage type.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/vapingguides.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Joker-Saber-Touch-GLV-2-Billet-Journeyman.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1085\" title=\"Joker Saber Touch GLV-2 Billet Journeyman\" src=\"http:\/\/vapingguides.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Joker-Saber-Touch-GLV-2-Billet-Journeyman.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"296\" srcset=\"http:\/\/vapingguides.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Joker-Saber-Touch-GLV-2-Billet-Journeyman.jpg 717w, http:\/\/vapingguides.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Joker-Saber-Touch-GLV-2-Billet-Journeyman-300x206.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Some models (e.g., the $159 <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vaporkings.com\/NEW-GG-Telescopic-Storm-with-brass-telescope-p\/gg-telescopic.htm\" target=\"_blank\">GG Telescopic Storm<\/a><\/em>, $167 <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vaporkings.com\/NEW-GG-DoubleSlim-upgrade-kit-Aluminum-finish-p\/gg-slim-twotone-db-upgrade.htm\" target=\"_blank\">GG Double Slim<\/a><\/em>, $80 <a href=\"http:\/\/shop.nhaler.com\/The-NEW-XHaler-XH1.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><em>XHaler<\/em><\/a>) allow combination of two 3.7V batteries to reach <strong>7.4V<\/strong>. These require use of <em>ultra<\/em>-HV (5.2 ohm) atomizers \u2013 10.5 watts power and 1.4 amps current. To my mind, a more effective use of two 3.7V batteries is&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The newest and increasing popular voltage level available is <strong>variable<\/strong>, the first example of which was the double-CR123A (3.7V)-based $115 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.notcigs.com\/index.php?page=shop.product_details&amp;flypage=tpflypage.tpl&amp;product_id=109&amp;category_id=7&amp;option=com_virtuemart&amp;Itemid=1\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Buzz<\/em><\/a>. It was quickly followed by the double-10440-based $68 (as shown) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boxmods.net\/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&amp;page=shop.product_details&amp;flypage=flypage.tpl&amp;product_id=13&amp;vmcchk=1&amp;Itemid=1\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Little Sister<\/em><\/a> and, more recently, the double-14500-based $75 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boxmods.net\/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&amp;page=shop.product_details&amp;flypage=flypage.tpl&amp;product_id=21&amp;vmcchk=1&amp;Itemid=1\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Big Brother<\/em><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/vapingguides.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Buzz-Little-Sister-Big-Brother.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1071\" title=\"Buzz Little Sister Big Brother\" src=\"http:\/\/vapingguides.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Buzz-Little-Sister-Big-Brother.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"418\" srcset=\"http:\/\/vapingguides.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Buzz-Little-Sister-Big-Brother.jpg 584w, http:\/\/vapingguides.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Buzz-Little-Sister-Big-Brother-251x300.jpg 251w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">And now many existing mods are adding variable voltage as a feature, e.g., the $109 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vaprlife.com\/tjoababo.html\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Joker-AV<\/em><\/a>, $170 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rnrmanufacturing.com\/Alii-Custom-Order_p_30.html\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Ali&#8217;i<\/em><\/a> (Variable Volt), $160 <a href=\"http:\/\/shop.nhaler.com\/The-Multi-Voltage-Dial-A-Tekk-Mod-tekkmod.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Multi-Voltage Dial-A-Tekk Mod<\/em><\/a>, and forthcoming <a href=\"http:\/\/theprecious.ro\/home\/products-page\/the-mods\/the-precious-l-v2\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Precious-L V2<\/em><\/a> (price not yet determined). All of the variable voltage mods use a knob (or notch for a small screwdriver) to dial back the maximum potential 7.4V to whatever voltage level is desired \u2013 to reach that &#8220;sweet spot&#8221; unique to each combination of atomizer, e-liquid, and vaper (and vaper&#8217;s mood).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">NOTE: There also is Nuck&#8217;s expensive double-18650-based $199 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fistpacks.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Fist Pack<\/em><\/a> (shown below), which I would call &#8216;selectable&#8217; rather than &#8216;variable&#8217; voltage, since it can be switched to only four preset voltage levels within three different ranges, depending on model purchased.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Fistpack\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ecigarette-mods.com\/images\/mods\/fistpackv3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"148\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"section_2\">The <strong>mAh<\/strong> of Mods<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As I hope you know by now, mAh is milliamp hours, which determines how frequently a PV needs to be recharged. The approximate mAh (rounded down to even hundreds) of the <em>batteries <\/em>that are most frequently used in mods is shown in the photo (from ViZi&#8217;s guide) at the top of this page. [I do disagree with what is stated for the 16340 and 14500 batteries; they are much closer to <strong>750<\/strong> and <strong>900<\/strong> mAh, respectively. And bear in mind that even for batteries of the same designation (e.g., 18650), actual mAh <em> <\/em>depends on manufacturer, chemistry, and version.]<\/p>\n<p>In <em>almost <\/em>all cases, the mAh of the <em>device <\/em>is the same as the battery used, even if there are two of them. When two batteries are stacked, the mod taxes both batteries for each vape: doubling the voltage, but <em>not <\/em>the mAh. So look at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ecigarette-mods.com\/ecigmod_batteries.html\" target=\"_blank\">ViZi&#8217;s table<\/a> of mods by battery type to assess the approximate mAh of the various mods.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mods of <strong>~300 mAh<\/strong> (i.e., barely more than the Kr8 and half that of the basic eGO) include all those single-10440-based devises, such as the $50 <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ecigsupply.com\/Joye-Stick-V3-p321.html\" target=\"_blank\">Joye Stick V3<\/a><\/em> (also available from many other suppliers at various prices), $139 <a href=\"http:\/\/theprecious.ro\/home\/products-page\/the-mods\/the-precious-s\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Precious-S<\/em><\/a> (world&#8217;s shortest slender mod), $120 <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.supertmanufacturing.com\/id73.html\" target=\"_blank\">Precise 10440<\/a><\/em> (world&#8217;s most slender mod), and $111 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vaporkings.com\/NEW-GG-Slim-two-tone-p\/gg-slim-twotone.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><em>GG Slim<\/em><\/a>.
