Big tobacco has made another commitment in the electronic cigarette market. In a press conference today, the cigarette maker R.J. Reynolds (RJR) announced its Vuse electronic cigarette. “A perfect puff. First time, every time.” will be the marketing slogan for the new line of electronic cigarettes that the company says performs more consistently than existing models. It’s hard to know whether they are comparing it to the good electronic cigarettes we have come to love or the poorer ones that are available at the cigarette counter.
At the very least, they are touting the fact that it is rechargeable, which is a good thing. The company is also stating that the microprocessor will continuously monitor the power, heat and cartridge performance. It sounds a little like a variable power “cig-a-like”, but we’ll reserve judgement on that one…
