NY Times Article a Must-Read Electronic Cigarette Article!

Most of the main-stream media stories on electronic cigarettes focus on the negatives and it is fantastic to see one that actually states the facts. John Tierney has done just that in his article, A Tool to Quit Smoking Has Some Unlikely Critics in the NY Times. The article actually exposes the fallacy of the arguments against the electronic cigarette posed by the FDA and other critics. This is an extremely positive article regarding the benefits of electronic cigarettes and is a good one to pass along to anyone who has only heard the prohibitionist propaganda.

A Great Deal on the E-Power (Times 2!)

I just ran across a great deal on the E-Power at Madvapes. They are offering a new E-Power Chrome Dual Coil kit that includes not one, but two complete chrome E-Power electronic cigarettes! The kit also comes with a case, 4 dual coil cartomizers and 10ml of e-liquid. This is a great deal for anyone thinking about an inexpensive mod, and I’m anxious to get my hands on it.

Great Article in the New York Magazine

It’s always nice when a main stream publication gets it right. The Smokeless Smokes article in New York Magazine is simple, to the point and gives a very positive impression of electronic cigarettes.

The Smokbox VariCool

After a few days with the Smokbox VariCool from SmokTek, I am finding myself using it more and more. It’s a great box mod that combines the enjoyment of variable voltage with great battery life. Learn more in the review.

Try smokeless nicotine cigarettes, says government

Check out this fantastic article in The Guardian. At least one entity within the British government is thinking logically and urging smokers to switch to smokeless cigarettes, including electronic cigarettes! Spread this article around to anyone who will listen!

Keeping Track of Electronic Cigarette Cartomizers

Sometimes it’s a simple thing that makes my day. I have come up with a pretty good system of keeping electronic cigarette cartomizer flavors straight by wrapping a thin strip of cable labeling tape around them. The problem is that cable labels aren’t an easy thing for most people to find. Smokeless Image has come up with a great idea in their Multi-Color end caps. They come in a set of five colors and could really help in keeping electronic cigarette cartomizers organized.

Smokbox VariCool from SmokTek

Smoktek has just expanded their line of custom box mods with the Smokbox VariCool Mod. It’s a custom variable voltage mod that incorporates a switching regulator, meaning that it will be a lot more efficient than a linear regulated mod. It should run cooler and get better life out of the two 14500 batteries it is powered by. And with variable voltage from 3.3 to 6.5 volts, the Smokbox Varicool will be a joy to vape with a wide range of atomizers and cartomizers. At $49.95 for the mod itself, this is a great way to introduce yourself to variable voltage.

eGo-T LCD Kit Review

eGo-T LCD Electronic Cigarette

eGo-T LCD Readout

As promised, the first look at the eGo-T LCD electronic cigarette Kit from My Freedom Smokes is now complete. This kit is everything we’ve come to love from the eGo model, plus an LCD that helps to track battery life and puffs taken, and a nice surprise in the voltage department! At $49.95, this kit is near the top of my electronic cigarette suggestions list for new users. Check out the review.

Dual Coil Shorty Cartomizer by Smok Tech

Dual Coil Shorty Cartomizer

The XL and the Shorty

A new addition to the popular dual coil line from Smok Tech is the Dual Coil Shorty. At about 36mm, these cartomizers are 10mm shorter than the XL version that was first on the scene. The shorter size creates a more balanced look, especially with smaller electronic cigarettes like the eGo. Of course, the capacity is decreased to around 1ml.

I just picked up some of these from Smok Tek (not to be confused with Smok Tech). They perform just as well as their larger siblings, but I like the look on my eGos a little better. The bonus is that they come in stainless, which works better with the eGo cone and seems to be hard to find lately.

eGo-T with LCD

For those of you who like to have an idea of how much power is left in your electronic cigarette batteries, a number of new eGo models with battery life indicators are available. When I grab one PV for a trip to the store, it’s nice to be able to know how much charge is left. I just picked up an eGo-T kit with an LCD built into the battery from My Freedom Smokes for $49.95. I’ll post the details when I get it, but that’s not a bad price for an eGo-T electronic cigarette kit with the added convenience of a battery indicator.

edit: I have received the eGo-T LCD electronic cigarette kit and am quite pleased with it. Check out the review.

On that same note, the variable voltage eGo electronic cigarette recently available from another supplier had the battery life indicator as well. I was quite enthusiastic about that electronic cigarette, but after seeing an associate get one recently, I’m going pass on those. One of his batteries quit within a week and the other fell apart at the switch a few days later. It’s unfortunate that build quality wasn’t included in that design.
