A new article on the Tampa Bay News 10 web site is a must read. There is very little of the garbage journalism that we usually see in reference to ecigs and quite a few great personal success stories. In total, it is a very balanced electronic cigarette article. Also notable are interviews with vendors like Vapin’ in the Cape, one of our favorites here at Vaping Guides. It’s nice to see sellers of good ecig products getting some press rather than just the overpriced big volume companies.
Aroma Ejuice G.I. Joe with WTA
For those of you looking for the ultimate cigarette replacement Ejuice, G.I Joe with whole tobacco alkaloids (WTA) is definitely one to try. The WTA eliquid is created by filtering out less of the alkaloids that are found in pure tobacco, allowing the ejuice to potentially provide a sensation closer to that of an actual cigarette (without the burning chemicals, of course). According to the Aroma Ejuice website, up to 5% of the WTA nicotine base is minor and trace alkaloids. What does this mean for the vaper?
At least in the case of the G.I. Joe eliquid I purchased, it means a very satisfying vape. This eliquid is not sweet or complex, but may be one of the closest to an analog that I’ve tasted yet. Vapor is very good and throat hit is excellent. Whether it’s the WTA or not, I really can’t say, but this is a satisfying blend. At $12 for 10ml, it doesn’t come cheap, but as a cigarette replacement it is tough to beat.

South Florida Vapers Meet
This past weekend I had the fantastic opportunity to meet a bunch of other vapers from the local area. It was a great time, with everyone sampling e-liquids, testing devices and trading thoughts and helpful information. Bruce from Clouds of Vapor was there to sell us goodies and show of a fraction of his impressive collection and Bombay Vaping providing some delicious samples. Clouds of Vapor, Bombay Vaping and Hoosier Ecigs all donated door prizes to make it even more exciting. A big thank you to everyone who contributed.
The next meet is already in the works for June 24th. See the details at South Florida Vapers on Facebook.
Goodejuice USA Made E-liquid
For anyone still searching for the all-day tobacco electronic cigarette liquid, the USA Lab Made line from Goodejuice is worth a try. I’ve been vaping the High Octane, Full Throttle, M-Type Lite and Bull Durham for a few days now and have enjoyed them. This is a custom line from Goodejuice with a nice clear appearance. The 60PG/40VG mix (and I suspect the lack of tobacco extraction process) make these liquids a good deal thinner than the House Brewed line.
At this point I would love to delve into a detailed analysis of the flavor nuances of each of the variations I tried, but frankly I’m not very good at discerning individual flavors. What I can tell you is that all of them are good clean tobacco flavors that are easy to get stuck on. The Goodejuice product page states that they were going for the perfect tobacco taste and I’d say they got pretty close. Particularly on the exhale, these remind me of the taste of a cigarette. Throat hit is good and vapor production is excellent.
The 30ml comes in a glass dropper bottle and at $15 is a good value for a custom made e-liquid. 3ml sample bottles are also available and come in a standard plastic squeeze bottle. For those who like tobacco flavors in their electronic cigarette, these are definitely worth a try.
Little Shop of Vapors
I just ordered some 1.7ohm prepunched cartos from Little Shop of Vapors and couldn’t help noticing some of the fantastic deals they are currently offering on their half price sale page. In particular, a $15 Smoktech 510 tank electronic cigarette kit is a steal. Not for the hard core vaper, but a great way to introduce someone to vaping for only slightly more than the cost of a disposable electronic cigarette.
Chrome Lavatube
In case you haven’t noticed, I have an affinity for chrome PVs and electronic cigarettes. So of course, the chrome Lavatube from Volcano caught my eye and one should be here soon. From early reports, the chrome version is a little better designed, with metal end caps. This version still has the 2.5amp limitation, but I have found that is fine for me when used with 1.7 ohm cartos.
V2 eGo 18650 Mod Head
One of the nice features of the eGo 18650 mod is the fact that the head is replaceable. The downside of that mod is the 3.3v regulated power. Joye has approached that problem in a novel way by releasing a new V2 18650 mod head that allows the user to switch between regulated 3.3v power and unregulated power. The latter will deliver up to 4.15v or whatever the battery is capable of given the atomizer or cartomizer that is attached. As we’ve seen from other unregulated mods, that is typically enough power to deliver a very satisfactory vape.
Stripped 5V Wow
I have been enjoying the 5V Wow for several months now and it has performed flawlessly. The black finish on the tube proved to be a little less durable, however and was chipping after a few weeks. I was surprised to see brass underneath the paint and decided to sand it all off. I think it looks pretty good with the finish removed and thought I’d share a photo. The only downside is that the bare metal gets tarnished after awhile; the photo at left shows it before and after a quick polish with Brasso.
